University Celebrates 2013 Award Winners

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Indiana Tech celebrated the accomplishments of several students at the university’s annual Honors Luncheon on Saturday, April 6.

The following individuals won awards given by the university:

Erica Shwering of Greensburg, Ind., was the student winner of the Kekionga Feather Award. This award is given for outstanding service to the student body of Indiana Tech. She also was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.Clea Endres of Fort Wayne, Ind., won the Hayashi Award. The Hayashi Award recognizes a senior athlete who has done the most to promote athletics and academics at Indiana Tech. She also was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.Kathryn Rettich of Germantown, Ohio, won the Outstanding Humanities Student Award. She also was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.Darius Darling of Detroit, Mich., won the Alumni Association Scholarship.Matthew Hansen, from Fort Wayne, Ind., was named the Volunteer Networker of the Year.Aubree Reichel of Puyallup, Wash., was named Tutor of the Year. She also was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.Amanda Northup, from LaGrange, Ind., was named Student Ambassador of the Year. Nathan Whetstone, from Fort Wayne, Ind., was named Computer Lab Monitor of the Year.Andrea Check, director of student life, was the staff winner of the Kekionga Feather Award.Indiana Tech’s student chapter of the National Society for Black Engineers was named Student Organization of the Year.

In addition to the awards above, the following students were honored for being selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges:
