World Aids Day Observed at IPFW

FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne’s (IPFW’s) Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, in collaboration with the Fort Wayne AIDS Taskforce, the Resource Center, and Indiana–Purdue Student government Association (IPSGA) are celebrating World AIDS Day beginning today (Wednesday, November 28), with a panel discussion “Living with Aids,” from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Walb Student Union Ballroom.

The panel will be moderated by Lisa Terry, executive director of the AIDS Taskforce. Panelists will be Jackie Scher and Andy Barchu, nurse practitioners; Dr. Jeffrey Gladd; Kris Wise, AIDS Taskforce director of client services; Patricia Veazy, AIDS Taskforce prevention outreach coordinator, and Ryan Guthrie, a client living with AIDS.

Other programming will continue for the next two weeks, including a balloon display on the Willis Family Bridge from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., free HIV testing in Room 111-A of the Walb Student Union from 1 to 3 p.m., and a balloon release at 3 p.m. on the Alumni Plaza, all on Friday, November 30.

All events are free and open to the public.
