FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Every Halloween are any number of “Frankensteins” can be found trick or treating. This year, the Department of Physics at Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) is inviting school-age children and their parents to attend an open house and see the story of Frankenstein come to life.
The open houses are Friday, October 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Department of Physics, located in the north wing of the first floor in Kettler Hall.
Faculty, staff, and students will lead tours of the department, including classrooms and laboratories, answer questions for the curious, and demonstrate interactive physics experiments.
The main event of each open house will be an innovative theatrical performance as the Society of Physics Students presents “Frankenstein: A Demonstrative Performance,” in which the story of Frankenstein will be brought to life using engaging and intriguing science demonstrations. The Friday performance begins at 6 p.m. with the Saturday performance starting at 3 p.m. Seating opens 30 minutes prior to each performance and is on a first come, first seated basis.
